Packaging

For transports to Canada, the motorcycle must be packed in one case. Just talk to your local motorcycle dealer - they are often happy when the overpack of new vehicles can be disposed free of charge. Best try your luck at one of the dealers of Italian or Japanese manufacturers. Alternatively, you can purchase a standard motorcycle box with us that can be delivered to your domicile. Another option is to pack your motorcycle at the port or airport by yourself. Further package can be stowed unless hazardous substances according to aviation regulations are involved (e.g. batteries/accumulators, methylated spirits, motor oil, aerosols). Our prices are calculated individually, so please inform us about length, width and height (please remove mirror!) as well as weight. Primarily, volume matters! The smaller the box, the cheaper the transportation costs!

These standards shall not apply for ro/ro transport to Halifax via ship.
A trouble-free import and export in your country of destination is possible without a Carnet de Passage. Besides transportation via airplane, we also offer maritime transport. However, we advise against latter one for your outbound trip. Potential destinations are Halifax, Toronto, Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver. Whitehorse is neither recommended for air freight nor for maritime transport due to very high costs occurring. Instead we recommend a transport to Anchorage and refer to our Allgemeinen Informationen Alaska. You also have the option to book one-way transport only or a multi-stop transport as well as: outbound trip via plane and return trip via ship or vice versa.

Air freight

Potential delivery points are Hamburg, Frankfurt, Cologne, Stuttgart and Munich. Upon request, retrieval and delivery of your transport box at/to your premises can be agreed. Approx. 1 week prior to departure, your motorcycle will be dispatched.Thus, on-time arrival is guaranteed. After customs clearance, executed by our client within approx. 3 to 5 hours, your motorcycle will be unpacked and off you go! The empty box will be stored or, in case of a one-way transport, left at the delivery point. Please contact our forwarding agent a few days prior to return transport and coordinate your vehicle´s drop off. Upon completion of your vacation, your motorcycle will be repacked into the box. Anything else will be organised by us here in Hamburg or by our partner at the destination. Please calculate approx. 10 days for return transport.
Transport, storage of the empty box and clearance for both ways as well as fuel and security charges and fees for dangerous goods are included in our service. The costs are based on the height of the transport box and amount to approx. € 4,500.00 for a standard touring enduro (both ways). The weighting of the price for initial / return transport comes to approx. 40/60.

Sea freight

Drop-off is possible in Hamburg only. Upon request, retrieval of your transport box at your premises can be agreed. Depending on the destination, your motorcycle will be dispatched 3 to 5 weeks prior to departure. Thus, on-time arrival is guaranteed. The box will be loaded into a container in Hamburg, so it is protected against salt water.
After customs clearance, executed by the client himself within approx. 3 to 5 days, your motorcycle will be unpacked and off you go! The empty box will be stored or, in case of a one-way transport, left at the delivery point. Please contact our forwarding agent a few days prior to return transport and coordinate your vehicle´s drop off. Upon completion of your vacation, your motorcycle will be repacked into the box. Anything else will be organised by us here in Hamburg or by our partner at the destination. Please calculate approx. 4-6 weeks for return transport. All port charges, transport, storage of the empty box and clearance for both ways as well as fuel and security charges and fees for dangerous goods are included in our service.
The costs are based on the height of the transport box and amount to approx. € 2,500.00 for a standard touring enduro (both ways). It is possible to retrieve or deliver your motorcycle in a transport box via truck featuring lift and pallet cart.

As a result of diverse experiences, we have to inform you that Canadian customs might insist on presenting the motorcycles from the collection container upon arrival of the ship in Montreal as first port of call. If applicable, this will happen in a special area. This means that the whole container will be routed to and unloaded in this area. The customs will carry out an inspection. Subsequently, the container will be supplied to its regular process and transported to Toronto. A delay of up to 1 week and costs of approx. € 1,500.00 / 2,000.00 occur out of this. The perpetrator of this inspection will have to bear the costs. Therefore, we recommend the option air freight or ro/ro transport to Halifax for your outbound trip. The return trip can be effected in a collection container via the cost-efficient sea route from Toronto / Montreal / Vancouver without any problems.
